In August 2009, the Hamilton City Council ("HCC") retained Simon Berry's team to advise the Council on its application to Environment Waikato for a comprehensive consent to authorise discharges from its municipal stormwater system, to replace the multiple consents which HCC holds at present. The project has been underway for some time and ongoing consultation (including with iwi) is almost complete. The application is for a comprehensive consent for the whole of Hamilton City. It is currently expected that a hearing in relation to the applications will take place in the latter part of this year. We will keep you posted on progress via this Bulletin page.
