Simon Berry and Jen Vella has been acting for WEL Networks in relation to a notice of requirement for a zone substation in Cobham Road, Hamilton. The Cobham Road substation will ensure security of supply to rapidly growing areas in Hamilton City, but importantly, it will shore up essential electricity supply to the Waikato Hospital, which will be expanding over the next ten or so years.

The NOR was recommended to be confirmed subject to conditions and construction was able to commence on this important infrastructure without delay arising from appeals to the Environment Court.
