Simon Berry has been engaged by Watercare Services Limited in relation to applications to the Auckland Council for water permits to supply water to the Warkworth community for the next 35 years. Watercare inherited the applications from the (then) Rodney District Council as a result of the recent Auckland governance changes. The applications comprise a renewal of the existing surface water take from the Mahurangi River and a new groundwater take at Sanderson Road, Warkworth. Watercare is completing further technical analysis to support the application, which will be heard in 2012.
