Kawerau Geothermal Power Station commences operation – July 2008 In 2005 and 2006, Simon Berry’s team acted for Mighty River Power in securing the resource consents necessary to establish a new geothermal power station at Kawerau. The $300 million project is the largest single geothermal development in New Zealand in more than 20 years. The latest news in relation to that development was the announcement by Mighty River Power that the power station has been successfully connected and has supplied power to the National Grid.
